14 Karat Yellow Gold Reproduction Art Nouveau Enameled Necklace

This 14 karat yellow gold, plique-à-jour enameled, reproduction of an Art Nouveau styled woman's face with flower motifs and diamond accents is light and eye catching all at once. Plique-à-jour, (French for “open to light”), this technique creates translucent enamels held in an open framework made by soldering individual wires or delicate metal strips to each other, rather than to a supporting surface as in cloisonné style enamel with a backing. More like a stained glass window than an opaque piece of cloisonné. Hanging from the delicate enameled 'windows' is a natural pale pink seed pearl which offers a touch of movement while being worn.
