To think a pearl is created when an oyster swallows a grain of sand and out of the discomfort it brings the mollusk, something so beautiful is made. It's a pretty incredible process. This piece combines a perfectly imperfect South Sea pearl inlaid with bezel set diamonds, weighing a combine .16 cttw, on a 14 karat white gold wheat chain. The pearl is free to slide along the 17 inch chain which is secured by a lobster claw clasp.
This 14 karat, vintage mabé pearl, is set in a hand-crafted bezel, surrounded by an old Russian style of filigree wire-work featuring rosettes and swirls along with 3 more buttercup set white pearls. A bold and dramatic pendant courtesy of the 1800's. The pendant measures 15 mm wide and 45 mm tall including the bail.
